TEAM 76 - RESCUED RIDERS (TENNESSEE)

  1. My name is Erin, and my horse is Misty Harbour. She is a mare, rescued during Operation Missippi Blues by Animal Rescue Corp in conjunction with Safe Harbor. So you can see how the name came about. We also have her 8month old filly, Willow. Misty also has her own FB page to follow her story.
My riding prior to last summer was always on other peoples horses. But now I am co-owner of two. My roommate and I share them.
I primarily trail ride, western style. Our tack is usually an Australian saddle and halter.
We have professional training sessions bi-weekly. My goal with the Derby is to encourage me to ride more often and longer distances to help encourage her training lessons and to deepen my bond with her.

  5. Got several rides in this week along with team #79, Pushin On TNDD. Have entered them all on the leaderboard and will update them all on here as well shortly.
We have worked on desensitizing Misty to working in an open field with wind blowing, worked on some focusing exercises, transitions to walk/trot, and HILLS. It's been a lot of miles, smiles, laughs.....and a little bit sore when we are done, but it's been GREAT to be back in the saddle after an abnormally snowy winter!!
