I am a “barnyard” cowgirl raised on a dairy farm and living in Southwest Michigan. My friends introduced me to mules, the original four-wheel drive ride. I believe that nothing much beats the thrill of exploring hills and holes on a mule. The trails of the Shawnee National Forest are the best we have found.
Wildfire is an Appaloosa mule. We’ve been together for all her life, and rode many miles over the past 17 years. We have rode in three of the Great Lakes (Lake Michigan, Huron, and Superior) and several states (MI, IN, IL, WI, OH, KY, TN, SD). This year we have many new places to leave tracks.

ReplyDelete3.2 mile ride at home. Nitro, our old Jack Russell tagged along, but I carried him in the saddle a bit to insure he got home.
