  2. Hello all, my bio is as follows:
I have lived on a farm my entire life & have been involved with horses since a very young age. I started my horse experience on a Haflinger breeding farm where I learned to ride and handle horses of varying temperaments. Since I worked mostly mares I believe that is why I gravitate towards them more than any gender. I was not allowed to ride any other way except bareback until the age of 12/13 (which made it easier to play Indians LOL). I learned to hitch a horse and drive as well. One day I'd like to drive a team (2). I also got the opportunity to work at a draft horse show and help hitch the teams up along with riding in the classes. My parent's never bought my own horse until I was 15 when they decided that it wasn't "just a phase". My 1st mare was a rescue Egyptian Arabian who was only 3 and pregnant. Since I had a lot of experience with foals I wasn't too concerned but excited to see a live birth. Unfortunately she decided to give birth to her 1st foal while I was at driver's ed class. She was 1st horse I actually trained to ride and the horse of heart, we had such a strong bond it was tough when I lost her about 3 yrs ago at the young age of 13. Her filly was the first I got to train from birth until I regrettably sold as a 5 year old. My mare also blessed me with a colt who was sharp as a whip, we had to change door locks just stop the escape artist. I have ridden several disciplines but my favorite are western events. I have competed in several shows as well.
Now on to about this handsome guy. Boo is my 21 year old Polish Arabian gelding I got after losing my mare earlier in the year. He has always been a trail horse his entire life but when I got him at age 18 I started expanding his horizons. He has been my main mount for the past 2 yrs but as his sister is getting older he is now moving more to second string. Last spring we participated in our first clinic on Ranch Reining were he did good and everyone was amazed at how old he was (he was the oldest horse there LOL). We did our 1st Judged Trail ride last year as well and I plan to do some more with him this year. We trailered a lot to Fort Custer for trail rides and he got very good about water crossings. This year I am going to try Cowboy Mounted Shooting on him, we will see how that goes. Boo is moving more into being my daughter's horse (Team Taylor Farms Jr.).
