Another year of smiles and miles. I am Anna Clawson the LostTexan. As this team I will be riding Ginger. She is a grade mare given to me by some dear friends. The S brand is for Erman Sands. Ginger is the last horse he trained. She is a great trail horse and has competed in NATRC and has gotten Reg. and Nat'l placings. The JA brand is for John and I on the river. She's the one we put our granddaughters on when they come to visit. I mainly pleasure trail ride for now. Hope to get at least 200 miles on this one out on the trails.
2016-01-29 4.84 miles Robber's Cave State Park Rode in JAMMIES. Rode w/dear friend Brenda and her horse Jimmy. Ginger is still bare foot, so it was slow going, but she did good.
2016-02-20 2.96 miles. Carol is home for the weekend. Wanted to go riding for her birthday. A little windy, but a wonderful ride. Yes, we did take selfies. Slow ride, horses are still bare foot.
2016-03-05 3.16 miles Ginger still barefoot. Great weather and great company. John rode w/me after my 2159.1 mile road trip to take mom to Georgia to see an old friend. Glad to be home.
2016-03-26 2.6 miles. Ginger got new shoes today. Had to go for a short test ride. Beautiful weather, great horses and wonderful company. John (better half) rode w/me.
2016-04-15 8.65 miles MTD: 42.54 Rode on lease N & E of the house. Rough climb. No trails. Rocks. Ended up on the Ind. Hwy for 1/4 mile to get to a place we could get back down. Horses did great. we were all wore out. Won't be a trail there. Have to keep looking to connect 2 old logging roads.
2016-07-30 8.69 miles MTD: 89.89 @ Horse Heaven Ranch. Yup, summer hot and humid w/storms in the afternoon. Was able to get in 5.09 miles in the am and 3.49 miles after the storms rolled through. Horses did great.
2016-07-31 6.59 miles MTD: 96.48 @ Horse Heaven Ranch. Was able to get in a nice 6.59 miles before it got hot and humid. Nice ride before heading home.
2016-08-21 3.25 miles MTD: 99.73 on lease north of house. Beautiful day for August. John rode w/me. Enjoyed his company. Horses did great. Perfect day.
2016-09-06 1.5 miles + 11.3 miles MTD: 130.41 @Billy Creek SP. Slow ride. GPS wigged out, but it restarted and I didn't loose any miles. It just recorded it in 2 sets. Down loaded to Gamin Camp as 2 entries. Ginger did great. It got very hot and humid. Had to call it a day by 1:30. Loaded and headed home.
2016-09-10 8.7 miles MTD: 139.11 @Robber's Cave SP. Slow ride, checked and added ribbons on Novice/CP route. Ginger did great. Rode w/Leona, Brenda and her grand daughter. Ginger did some ponying and did very good. Great day
2016-09-11 8.65 miles MTD: 147.76 @Robber's Cave SP. Another slow ride. Rode open loop to check ribbons and to add yet more ribbons. Rode w/Leona and Becky
