My name is Aleda Chesmore and I live in Henderson, Nevada. My partner is Stylish Party Player aka Slider or Slide Man. Slider is a 14 year old Quarter horse that was a high powered rope horse. Slider bowed a tendon and he was given to me for a trail/pleasure horse. I am still trying to convince him that this is fun, he is always looking for a steer to go chase. I am a 66 year old that has never out grown the need to have a horse in my life. I have taken a few unauthorized dismounts that resulted in a broken back. Slider has a bad leg, I have a bad back, this was a match made in heaven.
I am more of a weekend warrior as I still work full time. I work in a high school with Special Ed children. Next to my horse they are my greatest joy. Our goal is 100 miles
January 2, I rode around our club to check out the gps app on my phone. Only did 1.62 miles. Took awhile since you have to stop and say hi to friends and other horses. January 3, went for a short ride in the foothills. I was so proud of my Slider, the footing was not great and trail was washed out. This is only his 4th real trail ride and he took it all in without a miss step.
On 1/17/16 road 4.14 miles west of Henderson, Nevada. On 1/18/16 road 4.42 miles same location. Going to be going there quite often, trails everywhere. Great footing for the horses, great scenery for us.
1/24/2016, 2.19 miles at Black Mt., cut the ride short due to my horse Slider showing tenderness on his right front. On Friday during turnout he acted like a two year old, I think he must have pulled a muscle.
1/30/2016. Took a short ride around the club to see if Slider was still sore on his right front. All seems fine, if no rain tomorrow will go longer. 1.52 miles today.
2/7/2016 5.28 miles, Floyd Lamb Park. Great ride with friends. Slider crossed his first bridge today like a pro. Doesn't sound like much but most rope horses don't see many bridges. Going to go back, lots of trails to explore.
2/10:2016. 2.3 miles around HSA. Slider got an adjustment from the chiropractor today, the temp was in the 70's and he was feeling like a colt. He wanted to pop. Turned him out in the cutting pen and let him get the edge off. Then we continued out ride, he was much better. Spring is in the air!!!!!
2/14/2016. Road 8,27 miles up Black Mt. Climbed 827 feet, it was truly a technical ride, first time for Slider. He was a rock star, so very proud of my boy!!!!
2/21/2016. 5.27 miles at Black Mt. It was 78 and light breeze, perfect day. Worked the stone steps like a pro and had figured it out on the slide down hill. My riding partner Wendy and I had a great time!
5.03 at Floyd Lamb Park. Just an easy stroll on really good ground. Slider and Shindlee seemed to enjoy the break from technical rides of the last two weeks. As usual my best friend Wendy was riding with us.

That lady ride was 2.98 miles, I am checking out a gps as my phone is not doing well on battery life. Any suggestion would be welcome.

1/16/2016 did a .08 mile ride around our club in my Jammie's! It was great fun to see the reaction of members. Loved it!
