My name is Laura, and my horse and I live in Maryland. My horse is Where's Waldo, or Wally. He's a 10 year old 17 hand TB/Rheinlander cross that I've had since October 2013.
I board Wally at an eventing barn and we are primarily eventers. We've just made our move up to Novice level in the fall. This year, I plan to continue eventing at Novice and start schooling some more Training level fences.
Wally and I have also dipped our toes into the world of distance riding and love it! We entered two 25/30 mile CTRs last fall. My goal for 2016 is to condition more, and hopefully by the fall do a 50 mile endurance ride. I'd also like to try a 2 day, 50 mile CTR.
Hacked out for about an hour and a half. Mostly walk and trot, did some canter-halt transitions on Forfa's ridge. Wally was being strong and wound up, so trot-halt and lots of bending, circles, and serpentines until he was listening better. Then we had a longer rein trot at the end, and he was much more in tune with me instead of being spooky.
