My name is Brenna, and this is my horse Simon. He is a rescued Arabian that I bought in July 2015. I had a bad riding accident in May 2015 that messed up my back and Simon is overcoming some lingering issues remaining from the condition he was in when I found him. My riding goals are to do lots of trail riding, compete in Trail Challenge Competitions, try Competitive Mounted Orienteering (it sounds fun), and do 1 endurance ride to see if either of us still like it. We both like trail riding, and he’s really taking to maneuvering trail obstacles in riding lessons. 2016 is going to be our comeback year!
We had some trailering trouble last weekend and so trailer loading is on our July training agenda.
I just read about "Equicaching" [Equine Geocaching] in Trail Rider magazine and found out we have quite a few near our home trails. I'm looking forward to trying this out, since Simon is an amazing trail horse & I have a GPS. :)
7/2/2016- 3.73 Mi. We took our new saddle for a test drive today. We climbed the bluff to check out if the trail was clear after some severe storms on Thursday. Planning to go to the top and ride in the experimental forest tomorrow. :)
