1/3/16 Tayyara 1.13 mi short ride on a "warm" sunny winter day mostly walking as the snow was slick underfoot and she was snowballing quite a bit wish I could go to the mtns but I'm smiling at being in the saddle getting in my first miles for 2016
Tuff Girls is Short Girls 2 on the leaderboard. I'm posting this to help me remember when I enter miles. Haha makes me smile that the fierce WYDD competition is between my mares!! I need to do some recruiting.
Hi! I live in Cheyenne W. I have 5 horses right now but only two that I regularly ride (2 others belong to my husband and we have 1 very old retiree.)
My picture is of Belesemo Tayyara going up Cougar Rock at the Tevis. She is a 14 yr old 14.1 purebred Arabian. This mare typifies the Belesemo ranch slogan about their horses being "the Cadillac of trail horses." She is so wise and steady but still a fast endurance horse. She has 1000+ endurance miles and 2 Tevis finishes. Some foot issues sidelined her for a couple years but this year I think she is ready to make a comeback. Regardless if she can race again, I love trail riding on her and schooling in the arena.
We have access to high rolling prairie just out our back gate but I mostly prefer to haul up to the Laramie Range west of us. With accessible open range, forested hillsides and trails that top out about 9000 ft it is an ideal area to ride and train.
This summer my mare and I will be competing in WY, CO, MT, CA, UT & hopefully AZ. She is a good traveler and camper and makes it a joy to travel the country competing.
I am in awe of all the teams that have so many miles already! Our ride season here in WY is pretty short but being in the Derby is inspiring me to get out even if its for just a few miles. Good weather is on its way so its time to get out and ride .. Really Ride!!
2/5/16 1.63 mi Tayyara Tayyara is feeling a little laminitic so is on a big diet per her vet. He thought it would be good to ride her walking in he boots at a relaxed walk. We had a very nice ride ... bareback to keep things cool.

Taylor is a Tuff Girl .. she strides out and does a great job with everything I ask her to do. I'm enjoying the bareback time.
