  1. Hello all, my bio is as follows:
I have lived on a farm my entire life & have been involved with horses since a very young age. I started my horse experience on a Haflinger breeding farm where I learned to ride and handle horses of varying temperaments. Since I worked mostly mares I believe that is why I gravitate towards them more than any gender. I was not allowed to ride any other way except bareback until the age of 12/13 (which made it easier to play Indians LOL). I learned to hitch a horse and drive as well. One day I'd like to drive a team (2). I also got the opportunity to work at a draft horse show and help hitch the teams up along with riding in the classes. My parent's never bought my own horse until I was 15 when they decided that it wasn't "just a phase". My 1st mare was a rescue Egyptian Arabian who was only 3 and pregnant. Since I had a lot of experience with foals I wasn't too concerned but excited to see a live birth. Unfortunately she decided to give birth to her 1st foal while I was at driver's ed class. She was 1st horse I actually trained to ride and the horse of heart, we had such a strong bond it was tough when I lost her about 3 yrs ago at the young age of 13. Her filly was the first I got to train from birth until I regrettably sold as a 5 year old. My mare also blessed me with a colt who was sharp as a whip, we had to change door locks just stop the escape artist. I have ridden several disciplines but my favorite are western events. I have competed in several shows as well.
Now on to my baby girl: Dice is my 4yr old Appaloosa filly I purchased as a yearling. The people I bought her from made a lot of claims about what she knew but once I got her home I realized what she really didn't know. After letting her settle in I discovered she came from her old home with rain rot. I quickly got that healed and thankfully she has no scars from that experience. I bought her in the hopes of competing in ranch horse with her since I am moving into roping & cow work. Unfortunately since she was an "accident" baby the association has no record of her breeding and would not allow me to register her, so therefore she was not eligible to earn any points or compete at ranch horse shows. I am looking into NCHA & NRHA shows for in. If I find some good clinics she will be attending those as well this year. I am hoping to at least get her on a flag this year. Dice is also the filly that is bringing back my training spark that dimmed after losing my mare. She is one of my favorites but we still butt heads occasionally, which is why I love mares LOL.
